Does This Circulating Video Have Any Connection To The Biafra Struggle?

On August 17, 2025, the self-acclaimed prime minister of the United States of Biafra, Ngozi Orabueze posted a video on X with the claim that Biafrans are gradually taking over Anambra state. The 2 minutes 36 seconds video shows a lady with a megaphone, leading a protest while others who were following her lead held a banner. The post was captioned, “Breaking: Biafrans gradually taken over their state in Ikemba. United States of Biafra USB is a Sovereign state and the delegitimized governors must leave Biafraland Soludo should peacefully leave Biafraland. The People are rising and coming.”

In the comment section, @Osmondaviss wrote “most of our viilages can't defend there selves against foolani herdsmen. they ran away when they hear that they are coming.” while @CAspirewealth said “Africa Action Congress,  what does that have to do with USB.” This post had garnered about 17,600 views with over 1,340 replies, reposts, quotes, likes and bookmarks, as of when this report was published.

VERIFICATION

NV-A took screenshots from different angles of the video and analysed it using Reverse Google Image Search, the result revealed that the video was posted on Facebook on August 15, 2025. The video was accompanied by a caption explaining that, the lady in the picture, Chioma Ifemeludike, the governorship candidate for African Action Congress, AAC, was restricted from entering the Anambra State Government House–named Light House–by security operatives. She had requested to see Governor Soludo, over the menace of insecurity in the state.

Further verification using “keyword search” revealed that Chioma Grace Ifemeludike is indeed the African Action Congress, AAC, governorship candidate for Anambra State. She has publicly condemned alleged criminal activities and human rights violations by the state’s Agunechemba security network. She threatened that, if necessary reforms were not implemented, she would personally lead a protest march to the Anambra State Government House.

A critical look into the banner used during the protest shows no visible write-up about Biafraland but rather condemns the brutal murder of “Emmanuel”, with the heading “Emmanuel Protected Her Sister.” Her protest was in reference to the killing of one Emmanuel by suspected kidnappers, over his refusal to sexually violate his sister.

CONCLUSION

The claim that Biafrans have gradually taken over their state in Ikemba is MISLEADING. The video posted is related to a protest spearheaded by Chioma Ifemeludike, the governorship candidate for AAC in the upcoming Anambra gubernatorial election.
