VERIFICATION

In October 2025, Reuters reported that the United States approached several African countries, including Burkina Faso, with a proposal to resettle some deported migrants who were denied entry or asylum in the U.S. The BBC report on the same proposal confirmed that Burkina Faso rejected the proposal.

Burkina Faso Foreign Minister, Karamoko Jean-Marie Traoré, described the U.S. request as “unworthy and indecent,” emphasising that Burkina Faso would not serve as a dumping ground for deported foreigners.

While Burkina Faso publicly rejected the proposal, citing national sovereignty and dignity, there have been no further updates on the issue. There are no press releases or publicised statements from the Burkinabè government, issuing a military threat against the United States.

CONCLUSION

The claim that Burkina Faso has threatened to bomb the U.S. military is FALSE. It is true that Burkina Faso rejected a U.S. deportation proposal, but there is no evidence that the country threatened to bomb U.S. military bases.
