Does FG Plan To Convert Paramilitary Agencies Job Applicants Into Military Personnel?

On November 21, 2025, a Facebook user claimed that applicants of the Civil Defence, Immigration and Prisons Service Board, will all be converted into the military. The post which has an image of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu and the inscription, ‘Federal Government Announces That All CDCFIB Applicants Will Be Converted Converted To Military Personnel’ was captioned “Thank God network no allow me🌚🌚

VERIFICATION

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, CDCFIB, oversees recruitment into four paramilitary/civil-security services: Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS). The board’s official communications emphasise that recruitment is based on application, selection, and screening, including Computer Based Tests (CBT) for shortlisted candidates.

The official CDCFIB website lists only the four statutory services namely; NSCDC, NIS, FFS, NCoS, and describes recruitment and selection procedures, but does not mention any initiative to automatically convert all applicants to “military personnel.”

There is no official announcement by CDCFIB, the Defense Ministry or the Federal Government, converting all CDCFIB applicants into “military personnel.”

CONCLUSION

The claim that applicants of the Civil Defence, Immigration and Prisons Service Board, will all be converted into the military is FALSE. There is no official announcement by CDCFIB or the Federal Government stating that applicants to these paramilitary agencies will be converted into military personnel.
